Description

This hearty and flavorful Kielbasa Potato Soup is a comforting dish that combines savory kielbasa, tender potatoes, and vegetables in a creamy broth. Perfect for a cozy meal on a chilly day!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb kielbasa, sliced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 4 cups diced potatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • In a large pot, cook the sliced kielbasa over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the chicken broth, diced potatoes, chopped onion, sliced carrots, diced celery, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the pot.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and let the soup cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer a thicker soup, you can mash some of the potatoes with a potato masher and stir it back into the soup for added creaminess.
  • For a smokier flavor, use smoked kielbasa.
  • You can also add other vegetables such as corn or green beans for extra flavor and texture.
