Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup red candy melts
- 1 cup white candy melts
- 2 cups hot cocoa mix
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- Red food coloring
- White sprinkles
Instructions
- Melt the red candy melts and white candy melts in separate bowls according to package instructions, stirring frequently.
- Add a few drops of red food coloring to the red candy melts and stir until the color is evenly distributed.
- Spoon the red candy melts into half sphere molds, spreading evenly to coat the sides. Use the back of a spoon to ensure an even layer.
- Chill in the fridge for about 5 minutes until the candy coating hardens.
- Once the red candy melts have set, carefully remove the red half spheres from the molds.
- Repeat the process with the white candy melts to create the other half of the cocoa bomb.
- Once the white candy melts have cooled, spoon a small amount of hot cocoa mix and mini marshmallows into the center of one half sphere.
- Warm a plate in the microwave and use it to melt the edges of the red sphere. Place the melted edge of the red sphere onto the other half sphere to seal the cocoa bomb.
- Decorate the top with white sprinkles for a festive touch.
- Store in an airtight container or package in gift boxes for a sweet holiday treat!
Notes
- Be sure to not overheat the candy melts when melting them; stir them slowly to prevent burning.
- You can also add crushed candy canes or chocolate chips to the inside of the cocoa bombs for extra flavor.
- For a richer hot cocoa, use a premium cocoa mix or add a little bit of vanilla extract to the mixture.
