Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped mixed candied fruit
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine dates, mixed fruit, and walnuts.
  • In a separate bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt; gradually stir into the creamed mixture.
  • Stir in the fruit and nut mixture.
  • Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  • Let cookies cool on a wire rack before serving.
