Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour, mixing until the dough is fully incorporated and smooth.
- Using a cookie press, form cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- If you don’t have a cookie press, you can shape the dough into balls and flatten them with a fork or use a piping bag for decorative shapes.
- For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of salt to balance out the sweetness, or dip the edges of the cooled cookies in melted chocolate.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week and make great gifts for the holidays!
