The combination of a savory, rich beef filling and a homemade Big Mac sauce makes these sloppy joes irresistible!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Sloppy Joe Filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef (lean)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • ½ cup sliced pickles (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

For the Big Mac Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish

For Assembling the Sloppy Joes:

  • 4 hamburger buns (soft, toasted if desired)
  • Extra sliced pickles for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the Big Mac Sauce
    • In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and sweet pickle relish. Stir until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Sloppy Joe Filling
    • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
    • Add chopped onion to the beef and cook until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
    • Stir in ketchup, mustard, sliced pickles, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well and cook until the cheese melts and the mixture is heated through, about 2 minutes.
  3. Assemble the Sloppy Joes
    • Spoon a generous amount of the beef mixture onto the bottom half of each toasted hamburger bun.
    • Top with a drizzle of Big Mac sauce and additional pickle slices.
    • Place the top bun on and serve immediately!

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the sloppy joe filling.
  • Feel free to add more or less mustard, ketchup, or pickle relish to the Big Mac sauce to suit your taste.
  • If you want to make it extra cheesy, sprinkle more cheddar on top of the beef filling before serving.
