Description

Creamy Garlic Butter Chicken Alfredo is a deliciously rich pasta dish with tender chicken breasts smothered in a silky garlic butter Alfredo sauce. The creamy sauce pairs perfectly with the pasta for a comfort food favorite that’s quick and easy to make for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta (or your favorite pasta)
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fettuccine pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Chicken:
    • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is fully cooked and has an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside to rest.
  3. Make the Garlic Butter Alfredo Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
    • Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes, letting it reduce slightly.
  4. Add the Parmesan:
    • Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash more chicken broth or cream to reach your desired consistency.
    • Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
  5. Combine Chicken and Pasta:
    • Slice the cooked chicken into thin strips.
    • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce and toss to coat evenly. Add the sliced chicken on top and mix it in.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve the Creamy Garlic Butter Chicken Alfredo in bowls or on plates. Garnish with fresh parsley for color and added flavor.

Notes

  • Chicken Variations: You can substitute the chicken breasts with chicken thighs for a juicier option, or even use grilled chicken for added flavor.
  • Veggie Add-ins: Feel free to add vegetables like spinach, broccoli, or mushrooms to the dish for extra texture and flavor.
  • Low-Carb Option: Use zucchini noodles or cauliflower pasta for a lower-carb version.
  • Extra Creamy: For an even richer sauce, you can add an extra tablespoon of butter or a splash of cream cheese to the sauce.
