Description

These Copycat Pizza Hut Breadsticks are soft, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned with garlic and parmesan. With just a few simple ingredients, you can recreate the classic pizza restaurant breadsticks at home, making them the perfect side to any meal or a tasty snack on their own.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough:

  • 2 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Warm Water (110°F / 43°C)
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Sugar

For the Topping:

  • 1/4 cup Butter, melted
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 1/4 tsp Salt (or to taste)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the yeast becomes foamy.
  • In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, stirring until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, one tablespoon at a time.
  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangular shape, about 1/2 inch thick, on a lightly floured surface.
  • Transfer the dough to a greased baking sheet or pizza stone. Use a pizza cutter or knife to slice the dough into strips.
  • Bake the breadsticks for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  • While the breadsticks bake, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, parmesan cheese, and salt in a small bowl.
  • Once the breadsticks are out of the oven, immediately brush them with the garlic butter mixture. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sprinkle additional parmesan cheese on top before baking.
  • If you prefer softer breadsticks, you can reduce the baking time slightly for a chewier texture.
