Description

These Oven Fried Feta Rolls with Chili Honey are a perfect combination of crispy, savory feta and a sweet-spicy kick from the chili honey drizzle. The feta cheese is coated in a crispy breadcrumb crust and baked to golden perfection, making it a healthier alternative to deep frying. The chili honey adds a delicious heat and sweetness, elevating this dish into a savory snack or appetizer. Simple to make yet packed with flavor, these feta rolls are sure to be a hit at your next gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block of feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • Olive oil, for frying

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cut the block of feta cheese into long strips, approximately 1-inch wide.
  • Dredge each feta strip in flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  • Roll the feta strips in breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure an even coat.
  • Place the coated feta strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, drizzling a little olive oil on top.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  • While the feta rolls are baking, prepare the chili honey. In a small saucepan, heat the honey over low heat and stir in the chili flakes. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to infuse the honey with the chili flavor.
  • Once the feta rolls are done baking, remove from the oven and drizzle the chili honey over the top.
  • Serve warm and enjoy these deliciously crispy feta rolls!

Notes

  • If you prefer less heat, reduce the amount of chili flakes or omit them altogether for a sweet honey drizzle.
  • You can also experiment with different types of cheese, such as goat cheese or ricotta, for variations on this dish.
  • If you’re looking for a healthier option, you can spray the feta rolls with olive oil before baking instead of drizzling them.
