Description

This indulgent twist on classic tiramisu combines the rich creaminess of ricotta cheese with decadent chocolate and espresso, creating a delightful dessert perfect for any occasion. The creamy layers are complemented by the delicate crunch of ladyfingers soaked in espresso, making every bite a treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup brewed espresso, cooled
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pound ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies

Instructions

  • Melt the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Let it cool slightly.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the espresso, sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
  • In another bowl, beat the ricotta cheese and heavy cream together until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually fold the melted chocolate into the ricotta mixture until fully combined.
  • Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture (be careful not to soak them too long), then arrange them in a single layer at the bottom of a 9×9-inch dish.
  • Spread half of the chocolate ricotta mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining ricotta mixture.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra layer of chocolatey goodness, sprinkle some shaved chocolate or cocoa powder on top before serving.
  • Make sure the espresso is cooled before dipping the ladyfingers to prevent them from becoming too soggy.
  • This dessert can be made a day ahead for the best flavor.
