Description

These Crispy Philly Cheesesteak Grilled Wraps feature savory beef steak, sautéed vegetables, and two kinds of melted cheese wrapped in a crispy tortilla. Perfect for a quick and delicious meal, this recipe is a fun twist on the traditional Philly cheesesteak sandwich!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef steak, thinly sliced (the star of the dish, providing rich, savory flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (used to sauté the beef and vegetables)
  • 1 onion, sliced (adds sweetness and depth to the wrap)
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced (contributes a fresh, slightly bitter taste)
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (adds an earthy flavor and texture)
  • 4 large flour tortillas (wraps the filling and becomes crispy when grilled)
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded (provides a mild, creamy taste)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded (adds stretchiness and a light flavor)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste (enhances the overall flavor of the dish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Sautéed Veggies and Beef:

    • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the sliced onion, green bell pepper, and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, until the vegetables are softened and the onions are translucent.
    • Add the thinly sliced beef steak to the pan and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the beef is cooked through, stirring to combine with the vegetables.
  • Assemble the Wraps:

    • Lay out the flour tortillas on a flat surface.
    • Evenly distribute the beef and vegetable mixture among the tortillas.
    • Top the filling with shredded provolone and mozzarella cheese.
  • Grill the Wraps:

    • Roll each tortilla tightly, folding in the sides to seal the filling inside.
    • Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat. Place the wraps seam-side down on the pan and grill for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Press them gently with a spatula to ensure even grilling.
  • Serve:

    • Remove the wraps from the skillet and slice them in half.
    • Serve immediately with a side of dipping sauce or enjoy them as they are.

Notes

  • Customizations: Feel free to add other vegetables like spinach or tomatoes for extra flavor.
  • Add spice: For a spicier wrap, add sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce.
  • Bread alternatives: If you prefer a gluten-free option, substitute the flour tortillas with gluten-free wraps.
