Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 lb cooked crab meat (lump or claw)
  • 1/2 lb cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or a similar-sized casserole dish with cooking spray or butter.

  • Prepare the seafood mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the crab meat and shrimp. Gently mix to combine, being careful not to break the shrimp into small pieces. Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Stir until everything is well incorporated.

  • Transfer to the baking dish:
Pour the seafood mixture into the prepared casserole dish and spread it into an even layer.

  • Make the breadcrumb topping:
In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the seafood mixture.

  • Bake the casserole:
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbling around the edges. If you want a crispier topping, you can broil the casserole for an additional 2-3 minutes, watching carefully so it doesn’t burn.

  • Garnish and serve:
Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use fresh or frozen seafood. If using frozen, make sure to thaw the crab and shrimp completely and pat them dry before using.
  • For an extra creamy casserole, you can add a small amount of cream cheese to the mixture.
  • To make it spicier, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce.
  • You can prepare this dish ahead of time by assembling it and refrigerating it before baking. Just be sure to bake it for an extra 5 minutes if it’s been chilled.
