Ingredients
Scale
For the Strawberry Syrup:
- 1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, chopped
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
For the Iced Latte:
- 1 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee (cooled)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (or milk for a lighter version)
- 2 tablespoons strawberry syrup (from above)
- 1–2 teaspoons vanilla syrup or sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh strawberries (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Make the Strawberry Syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries break down and the syrup thickens slightly (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve to remove the solids, if desired. Set the syrup aside. - Prepare the Iced Latte:
Fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour in the cooled espresso or strong coffee. Add the strawberry syrup and vanilla syrup (if using), and stir well to combine. - Add the Cream:
Gently pour the heavy cream over the back of a spoon into the drink to create a layered effect, or stir the cream into the latte for a more blended drink. You can also use a milk frother to froth the cream for extra texture and fun! - Garnish:
Garnish with a fresh strawberry on the rim of the glass, or drop a few sliced strawberries into the drink for a pretty touch. - Serve:
Serve immediately and enjoy the sweet, creamy, and refreshing Valentine’s treat!
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less strawberry syrup to suit your taste.
- If you want a dairy-free version, substitute the heavy cream with coconut cream or any plant-based milk of your choice.
- If you prefer a stronger strawberry flavor, add more strawberry syrup and less cream for a fruit-forward drink.
