Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup green olives, chopped
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 packages of empanada dough

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened.
  • Stir in the green olives, raisins, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the empanada dough and cut into circles.
  • Spoon the beef mixture onto each circle of dough, fold in half, and seal the edges.
  • Place the empanadas on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

  • For a golden finish, brush the empanadas with a beaten egg before baking.
  • You can fry the empanadas instead of baking them for an extra crispy texture.
  • If using frozen empanada dough, allow it to thaw fully before use.
