- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup green olives, chopped
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 packages of empanada dough
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened.
- Stir in the green olives, raisins, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the empanada dough and cut into circles.
- Spoon the beef mixture onto each circle of dough, fold in half, and seal the edges.
- Place the empanadas on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
- For a golden finish, brush the empanadas with a beaten egg before baking.
- You can fry the empanadas instead of baking them for an extra crispy texture.
- If using frozen empanada dough, allow it to thaw fully before use.
