Description

Stuffed Grape Leaves with Rice and Herbs, also known as Dolma, is a classic Mediterranean dish that’s light, flavorful, and perfect for serving as an appetizer or a snack. These grape leaves are stuffed with a fragrant mixture of rice, fresh herbs, and olive oil, then rolled up into a neat and delicious bite-sized treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 jar grape leaves
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Rinse grape leaves under cold water and drain.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together rice, parsley, mint, green onions, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  • Place a grape leaf flat on a work surface. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the rice mixture onto the center of the leaf.
  • Fold in the sides of the leaf and roll up tightly.
  • Repeat with the remaining grape leaves and rice mixture.
  • Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Be sure to rinse the grape leaves well to remove any brine or saltiness.
  • If you prefer, you can add a bit of garlic or onion powder to the rice mixture for extra flavor.
  • Serve with a side of tzatziki sauce or a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cook Time: 0 minutes (since the rice is pre-cooked and the grape leaves are served fresh)
