Ingredients
Scale
For the Breadsticks:
- 1 package (13.8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)
For the Philly Cheesesteak Filling:
- 1 lb beef sirloin or ribeye, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional, for added flavor)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 oz provolone cheese, sliced (or more if you like extra cheese)
- 4 oz American cheese, sliced (or cheddar, if preferred)
For Dipping Sauce (optional):
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce or ranch dressing
Instructions
- Prepare the filling:
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef, onion, bell pepper (if using), and garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is cooked through and the onions are softened (about 5-7 minutes). - Assemble the breadsticks:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle or square shape. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly across the dough. - Fill with cheesesteak mixture:
Evenly distribute the Philly cheesesteak mixture (beef, onions, peppers) along the center of the dough. Layer the provolone and American cheese slices on top of the filling. Carefully fold the dough over the filling, creating a log shape or roll. Pinch the edges tightly to seal. - Bake the breadsticks:
Place the stuffed breadsticks seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the top with olive oil. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted inside. - Serve:
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing into individual breadsticks. Serve with marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
Notes
- You can add mushrooms or jalapeños to the filling for extra flavor and spice.
- Feel free to substitute the beef with chicken or turkey for a lighter version.
- For a crispier crust, sprinkle some garlic powder or Italian seasoning on top before baking.
