Description

This hearty and comforting casserole combines juicy meatballs, marinara sauce, melted cheese, and French bread cubes, creating a delicious twist on a classic meatball sub. Perfect for feeding a crowd or a cozy family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound frozen meatballs
  • 1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the frozen meatballs, French bread cubes, and marinara sauce. Stir to coat the bread and meatballs with the sauce.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread cubes are golden and crispy.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute the frozen meatballs with homemade or pre-cooked meatballs if preferred.
  • For extra flavor, add some garlic powder or Italian seasoning to the bread and meatball mixture.
  • If you like it extra cheesy, feel free to add more mozzarella or sprinkle some provolone cheese on top.
