Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb. boneless steak (such as sirloin or fillet), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and melt the butter.
- Add the garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Add the steak pieces to the skillet, cooking for about 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the steak is cooked through and browned on all sides.
- If using, drizzle the sesame oil over the steak and stir to combine.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, teriyaki sauce (or mirin), and pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the steak, stirring to coat evenly, and cook for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Serve the hibachi steak hot, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, serve with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete hibachi-style meal.
- You can also substitute the steak with chicken or shrimp for variation.
