Description

This Garlic Parmesan Chicken Bake is a flavorful and easy-to-make dish with tender chicken breasts baked in a garlic, parmesan, and herb sauce. With the addition of lemon juice, chili flakes, and Italian seasoning, this dish brings a perfect balance of savory, zesty, and slightly spicy flavors. It’s an excellent choice for a weeknight dinner.

  • 2 or 3 chicken breasts, cut in half horizontally (4 to 6 pieces)

  • 3 teaspoons paprika, divided

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon instant chicken bouillon (optional)

  • 1 or 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 4 tablespoons melted unsalted butter

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • ¾ cup freshly grated parmesan

  • ½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (or garlic powder)

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley, plus more for garnish

  • 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes (optional)


Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish with cooking spray or a bit of olive oil.

  • Season the Chicken:
    In a small bowl, mix together 2 teaspoons of paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chicken bouillon (if using), black pepper, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and red chili flakes (if using). Rub this seasoning mixture all over the chicken breasts.

  • Prepare the Garlic Parmesan Sauce:
    In another bowl, combine the melted butter, olive oil, lemon juice, freshly grated parmesan, and the remaining 1 teaspoon of paprika. Stir until well combined.

  • Assemble the Dish:
    Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Pour the garlic parmesan sauce over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated.

  • Bake the Chicken:
    Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and is cooked through. The sauce should be bubbling and the chicken golden.

 

  • Garnish and Serve:
    Remove the chicken from the oven and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve with your favorite side dishes like roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a green salad.

Notes

You can add more parmesan on top during the last 5 minutes of baking for a cheesy crust.

For a spicier kick, increase the amount of red chili flakes or add a dash of hot sauce to the sauce mixture.

If you prefer a creamier version, you can add a splash of heavy cream to the sauce.
