Ingredients
-
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
-
1 teaspoon paprika
-
6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
-
6 slices Swiss cheese
-
6 slices ham
-
6 tablespoons butter
-
½ cup dry white wine
-
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
-
1 cup heavy whipping cream
-
1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Place each chicken breast between two pieces of plastic wrap. Pound with a meat mallet until about 1/2 inch thick.
-
On each chicken breast, layer a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese, then roll it up tightly.
-
Dredge each chicken roll in flour and paprika mixture to coat evenly.
-
Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken rolls and cook until golden brown on all sides (about 5-7 minutes).
-
Transfer the browned chicken rolls to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
-
In the same skillet, add wine, chicken bouillon, and cream. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Stir in cornstarch and cook until the sauce reaches desired consistency.
-
Serve the chicken rolls with the creamy sauce poured over the top.
Notes
-
You can substitute the Swiss cheese with Gruyère or Provolone if preferred.
-
For a crispier texture, you can also bread the chicken rolls before frying.
