These easy-to-make, flavorful chicken wings are slow-cooked in a crockpot with a tangy BBQ and Buffalo sauce mixture, then broiled to perfection for a crispy, golden finish. Perfect for game day, gatherings, or any occasion!

For the Chicken Wings
- 4 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken wings
- ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
For the Sauce
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- ¼ cup Buffalo hot sauce
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Optional Garnishes
- Sliced green onions
- Ranch dressing (for dipping)
Instructions
- Toss the chicken wings with kosher salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, Buffalo hot sauce, and brown sugar.
- Place the chicken wings into the crockpot and pour half of the sauce mixture over the wings. Reserve the remaining sauce.
- Cover and cook the wings on low for 3-4 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours.
- Preheat the oven broiler to high and position an oven rack in the top third of the oven. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place the wings on the prepared baking sheet and brush with olive oil. Broil for 2-3 minutes until the wings are browned and crispy.
- Brush the wings with some of the reserved sauce and broil for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Sprinkle with chopped green onions, if desired. Serve with ranch dressing and the remaining BBQ sauce.
Notes
- You can adjust the heat of the wings by increasing or decreasing the amount of Buffalo hot sauce.
- Feel free to use your favorite BBQ sauce for this recipe.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, simmer it on the stovetop for a few minutes before adding it to the wings.
