Description

These Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants are an easy, savory treat that combines smoky cheddar cheese, deli-cut ham, and a flavorful mustard-honey sauce all wrapped in a buttery croissant. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or a snack, these croissants are baked to golden perfection and topped with poppy seeds for an extra touch of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 mini croissants
  • 4 slices smoked cheddar cheese (or regular cheddar), halved
  • ¾ pound deli-cut ham
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg white
  • Poppy seeds, for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the mini croissants in half horizontally.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, yellow mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Spread a thin layer of the butter mixture on the inside of each croissant.
  • Place half a slice of smoked cheddar cheese on the bottom of each croissant.
  • Layer with deli-cut ham, then top with another half slice of cheddar cheese.
  • Close the croissants and brush the tops with egg white.
  • Sprinkle the croissants with poppy seeds for a decorative touch.
  • Arrange the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden and crispy on top.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute regular cheddar cheese if smoked cheddar isn’t available.
  • If you prefer a stronger mustard flavor, adjust the amount of yellow mustard to your liking.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat them in the oven for best results.
