Ingredients
Scale
For the donut holes:
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk
- 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil, for frying
For the strawberry cheesecake filling:
- 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup (30g) powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup (60g) fresh strawberries, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp heavy cream
For coating:
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Prepare the filling:
In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and chopped strawberries. Mix until smooth and creamy. Add the heavy cream and stir until fully combined. Chill the mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes to firm it up slightly. - Make the donut dough:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. - Fry the donut holes:
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Using a spoon or your hands, carefully shape the dough into small balls and fry them in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, turning occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. - Fill the donut holes:
Once the donut holes have cooled slightly, use a piping bag to inject the strawberry cheesecake filling into the center of each donut hole. - Coat the donut holes:
In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Roll each stuffed donut hole in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated. - Serve and enjoy:
Serve these warm for a delicious treat that’s sure to impress!
