Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon instant coffee granules
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) unflavored gelatin
- 3 tablespoons cold water
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, sugar, instant coffee granules, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar and coffee granules have dissolved completely.
- In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom (soften).
- Once the gelatin has bloomed, stir it into the warm cream mixture until completely dissolved.
- Pour the mixture into ramekins or molds.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the panna cotta is fully set.
- To serve, unmold the panna cotta onto plates and garnish with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or a dusting of cocoa powder if desired.
Notes
- If you don’t have ramekins, small cups or glasses work well for serving this dessert.
- You can adjust the coffee flavor by using more or less instant coffee granules, depending on your preference.
- For a variation, drizzle caramel or chocolate sauce over the panna cotta before serving for extra flavor.
- Ensure the gelatin is fully dissolved in the warm cream mixture to avoid any lumps.
