Description

This classic apple crumble features tender, cinnamon-spiced apples topped with a buttery, oat-filled crumble topping. Perfectly baked to golden brown, it’s a warm and comforting dessert, especially when served with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups of peeled and sliced apples
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup of butter

Instructions

  • reheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well and pour into a baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, oats, and butter until crumbly. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a handful of chopped nuts (like walnuts or pecans) to the crumble topping.
  • If you prefer a sweeter topping, increase the brown sugar by 1-2 tablespoons.
  • You can use any variety of apples, but tart apples like Granny Smith work best for this dish.
